AYA assures support and cooperation
ITANAGAR, May 25: Apatani Youth Association (AYA) has assured all possible help and support to the authority and the family members of late Aroti Mize in delivering justice to the deceased.
Reacting to a news item published in this daily today, AYA said that it had neither supported nor tried to defend the alleged accused of Aroti Mize death case.
“Our earlier statement should not be misconstrued at this juncture in the interest of delivering justice to the deceased and to maintain peace,” AYA urged the AdiSU and ABK youth front.
While conveying heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family, AYA prayed to almighty for eternal peace of the departed soul.

Mutchu Mithi, son of APCC President Mukut Mithi surprised everyone with his record winning margin in the recently held assembly polls. He defeated PPA's chief ministerial candidate Laeta Umbrey by 2185 votes.
It is learnt that elsewhere in Arunachal, the news of Mutchu's victory itself came
as a big surprise. This is perhaps because Umbrey had scored two successive victories
against the ruling party candidate in 2006 bye-
So why is Umbrey revered as one of the best leaders in the state failed to make a
mark in his own home constituency? The answer perhaps lay in the resurgence of Mithi
in the state politics in 2012 as APCC president. He had temporarily withdrawn from
state's active politics when he was offered the gubernatorial role in 2006. Soon
after Mithi's return as APCC president, Umbrey started to lose support on the ground.

repeatedly blamed his failure to a political conspiracy, where he claimed that his
proposals and files on drinking water went missing or was blocked. To Umbrey's bad

Jaitley, Rajnath, Gadkari likely in Modi Cabinet
New Delhi, May 25: Arun Jaitley, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari and Shiv Sena's Anant Geete are likely to figure in a compact Narendra Modi cabinet which will involve a radical restructuring of various ministries with one cabinet minister heading a cluster of departments in complementary sectors.
In a clear indication that Modi is opting for major changes in the structure of the government, a statement issued by his secretariat here tonight said that "focus is on convergence in the activities of various ministries where one cabinet minister will be heading a cluster of ministries which are working in complementary sectors".
Modi is eventually aiming at "smart governance" where the top layers of Government will be downsized and there would be expansion at the grass root level.
In forming his cabinet, Modi has adopted the principle of "minimum government and maximum governance" and also "rationalisation with a commitment to bring a change in the work culture and style of governance," the statement issued from Gujarat Bhawan said.
The statement came at the end of another day of guessing game about the names of ministers to figure in the Modi cabinet that will be sworn in at 6 pm tomorrow.
Till late tonight, even Rashtrapati Bhavan had received no list of ministers from
the Prime Minister-
Geete would also have a Cabinet portfolio.
Other names making the rounds for the cabinet include Sushma Swaraj, Venkaiah Naidu, Ananth Kumar, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Uma Bharti, Harsh Vardhan and Piyush Goel.
Sources said that the number of ministries would be between 30 and 35 which would be much smaller than usual. However, an expansion of the ministry may take place later.
There was no clarity on the role of Advani with some reports suggesting that he may not be made lok Sabha Speaker which he is said to favour but he may continue as NDA chairman.
In that case, Sumitra Mahajan, senior BJP Paarliamentarian and former minister, may become the Speaker.
The statement said Modi is aware of the "high expectations" of the people. For whole of four days, he was busy with the formation of the ministry and discussing various alternatives to effective governance, convergence and coordination between various ministries, it said. PTI

Let us fight together for justice
Dear Editor,
Really it’s hard to lose someone before the time comes. My heartfelt condolence goes to late Aroti Mize and I pray for bereaved family to have enough strength to bear the irreparable loss. In the mean time am surprised with the nose pulling and exchange of words of allegation between ADISU, AYA etc. I would like to remind them that they have nothing to do with this case. Let law enforcing authority and law of the land take its own course of action. If you can, just pressurize for free and fair investigation and justice to the victim. Let’s not degrade the situation and age old peaceful relation between two tribes. It’s time to fight together for justice of late Aroti Mize and her family. Let’s show our oneness despite certain differences.

Political appointments at what cost?
Dear Editor,
I fully agree with the view and concern of journalist Taba Ajum as expressed in the
article under the headline “Political appointments burden on state coffers” published
in your esteemed daily on 24/05/2014 issue. Through this column, I would also like
to express my view and concern by asking the following few question:-
1. Are the service of Chairmen and Vice-
2. These departments (undertaking) do not earn revenue for the state for which they have been established. In such situation, one wonders whether they have been established only to fill up the political appointments, so that those appointed person enjoys the perks including free furnished accommodation, luxury vehicles etc.
3. As they are not earning revenue, are the appointments made on political considerations only to bring burden on state coffers?

3. Instead of paying high salary to such retired IAS officers along with perks, why not create few lower posts with that money to give employment to few educated but unemployed youths of the sate who are running from office to office in search of job, instead of saying no fund for creation of post?

Dear Editor,
Through your esteemed daily, first of all I would like to congratulate Tongam Rina for being mentioned among 100 information heroes of world. She has made whole Arunachal proud and brought us to the limelight of world. Also I would like to fully support the article published on 24th May under the headline “Political appointments burden on state coffers.” It’s true that appointment of too many parliamentary secretaries and OSDs by state govt. is useless and simply wastage of state exchequer. Also why Tuki led state govt. is caring so much about ex CS HK Paliwal? He should not be allowed to continue in the post of adviser to govt. of AP. Is there dearth of knowledgeable man in our state? How long can we depend on people like Mr Paliwal? Enough is enough and let him go and spend his post retirement life peacefully rather than hitting his head post retirement.
